I entered the Search for a Popstar Illawarra event, like so many others, and am thrilled to say, it was the beginning of the best time of my life. There were so many enthusiastic amateurs entered, that the heats filled too quickly. There was no shortage of talent to compete with. Everyone wanted to be in the competition. Popstar Australia were surprised at the response, and they still treated all of us with support and encouragement, especially the people only just starting out. The heats were different to cold Eisteddfod stages, or talent quests with bitter competitiveness. Popstar Australia set up sofas on stage and asked questions about who we were, and what we wanted from entertaining. Celebrities sat there encouraging us. It really eases the nerves. The announcement that you’ve won is huge, and the prizes are even better. We went to the Grand Final of Australian Idol 2008 at the Opera House, in a white Stretch Hummer. Thank you so much for organising this day. We thoroughly enjoyed the event. Holly can't wait for next year. Now she knows what to expect she can't wait to do it again. It was a great day, i loved the experience of being on a stage with all the lights and the lift that you got when you heard the audience applauding was so amazing.
